General terms and conditions
For the Kroki subscription via the website and the web app
Version 8 · As of: 1 November 2026
In short
This summary is not part of the contract. The sections below apply.
- Kroki is an online training path for your dog. You do the training yourself. We don’t give advice about an individual dog and we don’t replace a vet.
- Monthly plan: you can cancel at any time to the end of the month. Yearly plan: a fixed 12 months, then monthly at one twelfth of the yearly price, and you can cancel at any time to the end of the month. We remind you beforehand.
- You can cancel without signing in via “Cancel contracts here”, and withdraw (Germany and Austria, 14 days) via “Withdraw from contract”.
- We never raise prices without your consent.
- One subscription covers your whole household.
1. Provider and scope
(1) Kroki (“we”, “us”) is operated by Studio Slonček, videoprodukcija, Marie Breitkopf s.p., Šentjanž pri Dravogradu 59, 2373 Šentjanž pri Dravogradu, Slovenia, email: hello@getkroki.com, phone: +386 70 706 060, a sole proprietorship registered in Slovenia (samostojni podjetnik, s.p.). You’ll find all details in the legal notice.
(2) These terms apply to all contracts for the use of Kroki via the website and the web app.
(3) Other terms only apply if we expressly agree to them. Individual agreements with you always take precedence over these terms.
(4) Definitions: a consumer is any natural person who uses Kroki mainly for private purposes. The subscriber is the person who orders and pays for the subscription. A household member is any other person in the household who trains with the dog from the plan (§ 10).
2. Who can use Kroki
(1) Kroki is for private individuals aged 18 and over. Only adults may order. Household members must also be at least 18 years old. Children and young people can take part in the training, but only under the supervision of an adult.
(2) Kroki is meant for private use. Use for a dog school, training classes, animal shelters or other commercial purposes is only allowed with our prior consent.
(3) Your login details are personal; don’t pass them on. Anyone in the household who practises along does so under § 10.
3. What Kroki is and what it isn’t
(1) What Kroki is. Kroki is a digital service with a structured training path for dogs, above all for puppies and young dogs. Your subscription includes:
- the complete training path with short steps, texts and animated drawings (“How it’s done / Not like this”);
- a dog profile, the progress display and check-ins, which you use to record how the exercise went;
- reminders (as an entry in your calendar) and weekly goals, if you switch them on;
- a dog profile that everyone in the household uses together (§ 10);
- the SOS area with training steps for common everyday problems.
We show you the exact current scope before you order, in the plan preview and on the order page.
(2) What stays free. The safety check at the start, the assessment of warning signs (“red flags”), the SOS management tips and the “When to see a professional?” pages can be used without a subscription.
(3) What Kroki isn’t. Kroki gives general training instructions that suit many dogs. Kroki is not:
- individual advice, a private lesson or guidance by a person for your specific dog;
- a veterinary examination, diagnosis, treatment or therapy;
- behaviour therapy for aggression, bite incidents, severe fear or separation panic;
- an emergency service.
If your dog shows warning signs, Kroki may pause the relevant training steps and refer you to a vet or a qualified professional. This free safety content does not replace an examination.
(4) General information. The training steps and tips are general information, not tailored to your dog. They are suggestions, not binding instructions and not a diagnosis. You decide whether an exercise suits your dog (§ 4).
(5) No promise of success. Every dog learns differently. Whether and how quickly your dog reaches a goal or changes their behaviour depends on their age, health, history, surroundings and the training. We owe you the service described, not a particular training result.
4. Safety and your responsibility as the dog’s owner
(1) You train your dog yourself. You decide whether, when, where and how you do an exercise, and whether it suits your dog. You are responsible for supervising your dog and for the safety of your dog, yourself and other people and animals.
(2) In particular, please keep to the following:
- Read a step’s safety note before you practise it, and follow the notes on equipment (for example a harness and a secure area for recall and long-line training).
- Only practise in surroundings where your dog can’t run off or get into traffic, and follow the regulations where you live, for example on keeping dogs on a lead or muzzled, on listed breeds or the rules of your canton.
- Never let children practise with the dog unsupervised.
- Stop an exercise if your dog shows stress, pain, fear or aggression, and carry on with an easier step or get help.
- In the case of aggression, bite incidents, pain, illness or sudden changes in behaviour, get veterinary advice first before you carry on training. Veterinary advice always comes before Kroki.
- Pay attention to heat, age, health and breed (for example short-nosed dogs) and adjust how long the exercises last.
- Don’t use any painful aids or aids that violate animal welfare. Kroki trains exclusively reward-based.
(3) Dogs are living beings and can behave unpredictably, during training too. Kroki can’t take this risk off you. Kroki is not an emergency service: in an emergency, contact a vet or the emergency services.
(4) You remain your dog’s owner. Owners are liable under the statutory provisions for damage their dog causes to others (for example § 833 BGB, § 1320 ABGB, Art. 56 OR). Dog owner’s liability insurance is a good idea, and in some places it is compulsory.
(5) These paragraphs describe what is expected of you for safe training. They don’t limit our liability under § 15.
5. How the contract is concluded
(1) The presentation of Kroki on the website, in the questionnaire and in the plan preview is not yet a binding offer.
(2) How to order:
- You answer the questionnaire and see your personal plan preview.
- You choose the monthly or yearly plan.
- You create an account or sign in.
- On the order page you see all the essential information: the service, the price per billing period (final price), the monthly cost, the minimum term, renewal and cancellation, the note on the price test and the payment method. In Germany and Austria you also decide there whether we should start the service immediately (§ 8).
- With “Change” you can correct your details before ordering. You can cancel the process at any time until you click the order button.
- By clicking “Order with obligation to pay” you make a binding offer.
(3) The contract is concluded when we accept your order. We do this by taking the payment and confirming the order to you. When your access starts is set out in § 8 (2).
(4) The language of the contract is German. We store the contract text. You’ll see the contract confirmation with your order details, these terms, the withdrawal information and the model withdrawal form on screen after ordering, and you can save or print it. We also send you the contract confirmation by email. The current version of the terms is always on this page.
6. Prices, price test and payment
(1) The price that applies is the one shown to you on the order page directly above the order button. All prices are final prices. As a small business under Art. 94 ZDDV-1, we are not registered for VAT and therefore don’t charge VAT. In Germany and Austria you pay in euros, in Switzerland in Swiss francs. There are no extra fees, not even for a particular payment method.
(2) Price test. We test different prices. Your price is assigned to you at random on your first visit, without us evaluating any personal characteristics. It stays the same for you everywhere (website, plan preview, order page) and applies unchanged to your subscription for as long as it runs. Other people may see a different price at the same time.
(3) You always pay in advance for the billing period: every month for the monthly plan; for the yearly plan once for the first 12 months and every month after that (§ 7). We charge the payment method you chose when ordering or added later. The payment service provider is Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02 H210, Ireland (“Stripe”); we don’t store any card details ourselves. You’ll find an invoice for every payment in your profile under “Invoices”.
(4) Price changes only apply if you expressly agree to them. If you don’t agree, your subscription continues at the previous price; we may then terminate it with notice under § 16 (4). Your silence or continued use never counts as consent.
(5) If a payment fails, we let you know and may try to collect it again over the following days. Until the payment has been received, we may pause access to the paid content; the free safety content stays available. If the payment is still outstanding 14 days after our reminder, we may terminate the contract for good cause. The amount owed up to that point remains due.
(6) If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first; we refund anything you overpaid. Your rights against your bank or card provider remain unaffected. If a legitimate payment is reversed for a reason you are responsible for, you may have to reimburse us for the fees this actually caused; we may pause access for the period of the chargeback.
7. Term, renewal and cancellation
(1) Monthly plan. The monthly plan runs for an indefinite period and is billed monthly in advance. You can cancel it at any time to the end of the current billing month.
(2) Yearly plan.
- The yearly plan has a minimum term of 12 months, which you pay in advance. You can cancel it at any time during the first 12 months; the cancellation then takes effect at the end of the 12th month.
- If you don’t cancel, it then continues monthly for an indefinite period, at one twelfth of the yearly price per month (rounded down to the cent or rappen), billed monthly in advance. We show you the exact amount on the order page already.
- During this monthly renewal you can cancel at any time to the end of the current month.
- The yearly plan never renews automatically for another year and never at a higher price. You can order another year yourself at any time.
- We remind you by email at least 30 days before the end of the minimum term when the 12 months end, what the subscription costs after that and how to cancel.
(3) How to cancel. The easiest way is the “Cancel contracts here” link in the footer of every page or in your profile under “Subscription”. You don’t need to sign in for this. You can also cancel by email to hello@getkroki.com or by letter. We confirm receipt without undue delay, with the date on which your subscription ends; if that date isn’t certain yet, it follows in a second confirmation by email. You don’t need to give a reason.
(4) After an ordinary cancellation you can keep using Kroki until the end of the paid period. After that, no further amounts are charged.
(5) Termination for good cause. Both sides’ right to terminate the contract without notice for good cause remains unaffected. This also works via “Cancel contracts here”. If your termination without notice is justified, we refund the proportion of the amount paid in advance for the time after the end of the contract.
(6) Deleting data doesn’t end the contract. If you choose “Delete data on this device” in your profile, we remove your data from this device. Your subscription keeps running and keeps being charged until you cancel it. So cancel first via “Cancel contracts here”. Simply removing the app from your device ends neither the contract nor the payments.
(7) Changing plans. Switching from the monthly to the yearly plan or the other way round is a new order via the order page with its own order button, its own confirmation and (in Germany and Austria) its own right of withdrawal.
8. Right of withdrawal (Germany and Austria)
(1) If you are a consumer living in Germany or Austria, you have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days. You’ll find the details, including how to use the “Withdraw from contract” button, in the withdrawal information with the model withdrawal form. You can use the form, but you don’t have to.
(2) Start and compensation. On the order page you tick one box. With it, you request that we start the service straight away, before the withdrawal period ends, and you take note that you owe compensation if you withdraw. Without this tick you can’t order in Germany and Austria. We unlock Kroki immediately after you order. Your right of withdrawal doesn’t end when the service starts, but only once we have fully performed the contract. If you withdraw within 14 days, you pay proportionate compensation for the time up to the withdrawal (price of the billing period × days from the start of your access up to the withdrawal ÷ days in the billing period). We refund the rest within 14 days using the original payment method.
(3) Renewals of the same subscription (the next month; the monthly renewal after the first year) don’t trigger a new right of withdrawal. A plan change under § 7 (7) is a new order with its own right of withdrawal.
(4) For consumers living in Switzerland there is no statutory right of withdrawal for online contracts; § 9 applies.
9. Refunds
(1) We refund amounts charged wrongly in full, for example double charges or charges after an effective cancellation.
(2) After a withdrawal (§ 8) we refund within 14 days using the original payment method, minus any compensation owed.
(3) After an ordinary cancellation we don’t refund a proportion of the current period you have already paid for; you can use Kroki until it ends. For defects § 14 applies, and for a justified termination without notice § 7 (5).
(4) Beyond that, there is no entitlement to a refund. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
(5) Write to us at hello@getkroki.com. There is also an overview on the refunds page.
10. Your household
(1) One subscription covers your household. Your household is the people who live together permanently and train with the dog from your plan.
(2) You train together on the device the subscription runs on. In your profile you add who practises along; the history then shows who practised. Household members pay nothing and don’t enter into a contract of their own.
(3) The contracting party remains the person who ordered the subscription. Only they can cancel or withdraw.
(4) Everyone who practises along on the device sees the shared dog profile, the training progress and the household’s check-ins, including the notes on them. So only add people you want to show this information to. Details are in the privacy policy.
(5) You make sure that household members are of legal age (§ 2) and use Kroki in line with these terms. Sharing one subscription between several households and passing access on to third parties are not allowed. To prevent misuse, we may limit the number of household members and devices within reasonable bounds.
11. Rights of use for Kroki content
(1) All Kroki content (texts, training steps, animations, drawings, characters, graphics, software, databases, trade marks and logos) is legally protected and belongs to us or our licensors.
(2) While your subscription runs, you and your household members may view and use the content in Kroki for private, non-commercial purposes. This right is simple (non-exclusive), non-transferable and non-sublicensable. It ends with the subscription; for free content it applies for as long as we offer it.
(3) In particular, you may not:
- record, download, copy, publish, pass on, show publicly (for example in a class) or sell content, unless Kroki expressly offers this;
- pass login details on to people outside your household;
- read out content automatically (scraping, bots, crawlers) or use it to train, test or improve AI systems;
- get around protective measures, or alter, decompile or recreate the software, unless the law expressly allows it;
- use Kroki in a way that disrupts or overloads its operation or exploits security gaps.
(4) Text and data mining. We expressly reserve the use of our content for text and data mining (§ 44b (3) UrhG, Art. 4 (3) Directive (EU) 2019/790).
(5) Uses permitted by law, for example a quotation, remain unaffected.
12. Your data and your entries
(1) We explain how we process personal data in our privacy policy. These terms don’t contain any consent under data protection law. We always ask for consent (for example for statistics) separately and on a voluntary basis; you can withdraw it at any time.
(2) The information you enter in Kroki (for example dog profile, answers in the questionnaire, check-ins, notes) remains yours. You are responsible for its content; don’t enter anything that infringes the rights of third parties or is unlawful. You only grant us the rights we need to store and display it for you and to run the service. How we process it is explained in the privacy policy.
(3) After your contract ends, you can get the content you created from us free of charge within 30 days, in a common, machine-readable format, via the export function in your profile or by email (§ 327p (3) BGB). Data we have to keep by law (for example invoices) stays stored until the retention period ends.
(4) If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve Kroki without you being entitled to any payment for it. We only publish your feedback, your name or your rating with your separate consent.
13. Availability, updates and changes to Kroki
(1) Kroki runs on current versions of the common browsers on smartphones and computers. You need an internet connection to use it; you bear its costs.
(2) We don’t owe uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates and disruptions, including to third-party services or due to force majeure, can temporarily restrict Kroki. Your statutory rights under § 14 remain unaffected.
(3) During the term we provide the updates needed for Kroki to stay in line with the contract and secure. In the web app they run automatically.
(4) Changes beyond what is necessary. We may change Kroki for a valid reason, for example to adapt training content to new expert knowledge, develop features further, improve security and stability, implement new legal requirements or change a service provider. This also applies to training steps, drawings and features. Such changes don’t cost you anything extra, and we inform you about them clearly and understandably (§ 327r BGB).
(5) If a change under paragraph 4 affects your access to Kroki or its usability more than just insignificantly (for example because an essential feature is removed), we inform you by email a reasonable time in advance about the features and timing of the change and about your right to end the contract free of charge within 30 days after the change. We refund a proportion of any amounts overpaid.
14. Statutory warranty
(1) The statutory warranty rights apply, in Germany in particular §§ 327 ff. BGB and in Austria the Verbrauchergewährleistungsgesetz (Consumer Warranty Act). Kroki must be in line with the contract throughout the entire term.
(2) Please report faults to hello@getkroki.com and briefly describe your device, browser and what happened. Your statutory rights don’t depend on a reporting deadline.
15. Liability
(1) We are liable without limitation
- for intent and gross negligence,
- for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health,
- under the Produkthaftungsgesetz (Product Liability Act) and comparable mandatory provisions,
- where we have given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect.
(2) Otherwise, in the case of slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation. Essential obligations are those that make the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. In this case our liability is limited to the damage typical for the contract and foreseeable when the contract was concluded.
(3) Otherwise our liability for slight negligence is excluded.
(4) Paragraphs 1 to 3 also apply in favour of the people who work for us (employees, vicarious agents and assistants) if claims are brought directly against them.
(5) Contributory fault, in particular if safety notes under § 4 were not followed, is taken into account under the statutory provisions.
(6) For consumers in Austria and Switzerland, the limitations in paragraphs 2 and 3 only apply as far as the mandatory law there allows them (in particular § 6 (1) no. 9 KSchG, Art. 100 OR). There we are always liable for personal injury in accordance with the law.
(7) Your statutory warranty rights (§ 14) remain unaffected.
16. Suspension and termination by us
(1) We may temporarily suspend your account or terminate the contract without notice for good cause if you or a member of your household seriously breach these terms, or breach them repeatedly despite a warning, in particular in the case of:
- passing on or publishing content or access contrary to § 10 or § 11,
- reading out content automatically or attacks on our systems,
- fraud, in particular involving means of payment,
- use contrary to § 2.
(2) Before suspending or terminating, we warn you and give you the chance to respond, unless this cannot reasonably be expected of us because of how serious the breach is, or there is an acute danger to our systems or other users. We choose the mildest suitable measure and take your legitimate interests into account.
(3) If we terminate for good cause, we refund the proportion of amounts paid in advance for the time after the end of the contract; claims for damages remain reserved.
(4) Ordinary termination by us. We may terminate the monthly plan and the monthly renewal of the yearly plan with one month’s notice to the end of a billing period, and the yearly plan at the earliest to the end of the minimum term. If we discontinue Kroki altogether, we refund the proportion of amounts paid in advance for the time after it is discontinued.
17. Changes to these terms
(1) We only change these terms with your consent. If we want to change the terms, we send you the new version by email at least 30 days before it comes into force, highlight the changes and ask for your consent.
(2) Your silence and simply continuing to use Kroki don’t count as consent.
(3) If you don’t agree, your contract continues under the previous terms. We may then terminate it with notice under § 16 (4).
(4) New orders are subject to the terms shown when you order.
18. Transfer of the contract
(1) We may transfer the contract with all rights and obligations to a company controlled by us or the founders of Kroki (for example a future Kroki company). We let you know by email at least 4 weeks in advance, including the name and address of the new contracting party. In this case you can cancel the contract without notice until the transfer takes effect; we refund the proportion of amounts paid in advance for the time after that. Your price and your term stay the same when the contract is transferred.
(2) A transfer to other third parties requires your consent.
(3) You can’t transfer your subscription to another person without our consent.
19. Communication
(1) We communicate with you via the email address you give when ordering and via notices in Kroki. Please keep your email address up to date. You receive contract-related messages (for example order confirmation, invoices, reminders, notices of changes) even if you haven’t subscribed to tips.
(2) You can send us declarations, including cancellations and withdrawals, by email, via the forms on the website or by letter. We never require a stricter form than text form.
20. Dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, and we do not recognise any provider of out-of-court consumer dispute resolution (izvajalec IRPS) as competent.
If something isn’t right, write to us at hello@getkroki.com.
21. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
(1) The law of the Republic of Slovenia applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer and your habitual residence is in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of that country’s law. So this choice of law doesn’t take away any rights you would have under the law of the country where you live. For consumers whose habitual residence is in Switzerland, Swiss law applies.
(2) As a consumer you can sue us where you live or at our registered office in Slovenia. We can only sue you as a consumer where you live.
(3) If you are not a consumer, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is our registered office, as far as the law allows.
22. Final provisions
If individual provisions of these terms are wholly or partly invalid, the rest of the contract remains valid. The statutory rules take the place of the invalid provision.
The withdrawal information and the model withdrawal form are on the Withdraw from contract page.
